Collagen levels in the skin of the neck and décolleté are already quite low compared to the face. This is reflected in skin that is much thinner, prone to developing blemishes and wrinkles under certain conditions.
In addition to fine wrinkles and some horizontal lines, photoageing contributes to dark spots and hyperpigmentation. It has been shown that the formation of some wrinkles in the neck is influenced by the forward leaning position to which we subject the neck in certain postures when using electronic devices. On the other hand, certain metabolic and hormonal conditions contribute to the appearance of benign skin lesions, which we often have to remove for aesthetic reasons, leaving these scarred areas with a visually noticeable mark.
Due to the above and the good results we obtain with facial treatments, many of these treatments have been studied and tested in the neck approach, being the most effective:
- Hyaluronic acid: Treatment with infiltration of ultra-concentrated non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid in specific points of the neck allows us to treat both deep horizontal lines and fine wrinkles. The mechanism of action is a deep hydration that can last up to a year. There are specific brands and protocols for neck and décolleté, without leaving lumps or excess volume. It is a special type of hyaluronic acid that is distributed evenly throughout the skin tissue.
- Collagen biostimulators: Polylactic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite and polycaprolactone are the alternatives when there is flaccidity. They provide structural support to the entire skin of the neck and décolleté, making it less thin and more firm and dense. The dilutions and infiltration techniques are different than on the face. After two sessions with polylactic acid, studies have shown an 80% improvement (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19438668/). If we have slight scars in areas of the neck, we can conceal them and improve their appearance through this technique and in synergy with laser treatments.
- Neuromodulators: The micro doses of neuromodulators injected in very specific areas of the neck musculature allow me to prevent the formation of new wrinkles and above all to correct the horizontal lines. What they do is relax certain muscle bands and reduce movements, preventing the appearance of new wrinkles and smoothing existing ones. All this in a single session. HIFU (high intensity ultrasound) in combination with neuromodulators has effective results against the appearance of a sagging neck.
- Mesotherapy: Mesotherapy with PRP, polynucleotides, vitamins and the application of exosomes contributes significantly to an improvement in skin tone and texture. Several sessions are necessary for a successful result.
- Laser and IPL treatments: We recommend IPL procedures for some types of blemishes and different types of lasers to stimulate collagen production in synergy with injectable treatments.
