In the previous blog we explained 4 fundamental aspects to bear in mind that are the basis for understanding how long the effect lasts and, above all, to understand that it can vary from person to person.

Now, here are some tips to keep in mind so that you can extend the effect of neuromodulators:

  • Protect yourself from the sun: wear sunglasses and a cap to keep your muscles quiet for longer and to avoid having to gesticulate in a forced manner.
  • Limit the consumption of alcohol and tobacco: their consumption favours premature ageing, dehydration of the skin and, as a consequence, the formation of wrinkles. In addition, alcohol consumption can contribute to the development of chronic pathologies such as acne or rosacea.
  • Use antioxidants and skin renewers, such as vitamin C or retinol, as they stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, and help prevent premature ageing and the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. In this way they can help maintain treatment results for longer.
*Before applying any product, it is important to know your skin type and follow the recommendations of your doctor or our cosmetologists.
  • Consider collagen stimulating treatments such as laser, Radiesse or Sculptra to give your tissues a supporting base.
  • Consider skinbooster treatments with hyaluronic acid to keep your skin hydrated and properly supported.
  • Try zinc supplementation. Although there is still controversy about the use of zinc and its effects on the durability of neuromodulators, the fact remains that some patients may benefit from its effect.
  • Maintain good and constant hydration.
  • Maintain a healthy diet: fatty, high-sugar, processed foods can contribute to inflammation and premature skin ageing.

Also remember, on the day of the neuromodulator application, to follow the guidelines recommended by your aesthetic doctor, which are as follows:

  1. Do not lie down or sleep for 4 hours after the application.
  2. Do not massage the area for the following 48 hours to prevent it from spreading to other muscles.
  3. Do not use accessories such as motorbike helmets, glasses that squeeze the injected area or headbands that press on the area.
  4. Do not go to saunas, jacuzzis, swimming pools and, in general, avoid steam and places with excessive heat during the first 24 hours, as this helps the blood vessels to dilate and disperse the Botox more quickly.
  5. Avoid intense exercise for the first 48 hours.
  6. Review the treatment after 15 days.
