Mesotherapy for extending the hair growth cycle.
Hair growth stimulation.
What is it?
Just as androgens inhibit the development of hair on the top of the scalp, estrogens and progesterone stimulate hair growth. Progesterone is the hormone of gestation or pregnancy, during which widespread growth occurs in many pregnancy-related structures.
As a result of progesterone, the placenta grows in size, the fetus develops in the womb, veins dilate in pregnant women, skin grows to accommodate the fetus, and a series of changes occur to prepare the mother’s body for pregnancy and childbirth.
One of the structures most influenced by progesterone is the hair follicle. Hair grows stronger, larger, and for longer during pregnancy due to the effect of progesterone. This explains why pregnant women’s hair is in extraordinary condition. Progesterone stops being produced at the time of delivery; at this point, hair growth stops, and after three months, hair enters its resting phase, the telogen phase, and falls out. For this reason, one trimester after giving birth, mothers experience significant hair loss. This type of hair loss is known as ANAGEN EFFLUVIUM. It is so named because when progesterone levels drop, hair follicles enter their resting phase prematurely; that is, the anagen phase is shortened, and the scalp follicles enter their telogen phase (or resting phase).
